Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2019 – Poll Dates And More

The Election Commission (EC) of India announced the dates Lok Sabha (LS) election for 2019. Along with the other states of the country, Karnataka will also go into polls. Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will be held in 2 phases. There are a total of 28 constituencies in the state and 14 of them will go into polls in each of the phases.

Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2019 -Poll Dates

14 constituencies will go into the poll in the 1st phase of Karnataka (2nd phase in India) which takes place on April 18th. The second phase in Karnataka (3rd phase in India) will take place on April 23rd. Below listed are the 28 constituencies in Karnataka

Karnataka General Elections 2019 – Important Dates

  • Polling dates – Phase 1 – 18 April and phase 2 -23rd April
  • Counting day – May 23rd
  • The last date for voter registration- for residents of constituencies that go into polling in the 1st phase – March 16th
  • The last date for voter registration- for residents of constituencies that go into polling in the 2nd phase – March 29th
  • The last date for candidates to file nomination for constituencies that go into polling in the 1st phase – March 26th
  • The last date for candidates to file nomination for constituencies that go into polling in the 2nd phase -April 8th

Karnataka General Elections 2019 – How To Find Your Booth

  • Visit electoralsearch.in or use Voter Helpline App to know your booth. number. You need to note down your part number and serial number.
  • Call voter helpline 1950 (prefix STD code)
  • SMS space to 1950

Karnataka General Elections 2019- The Voting Process

  • Polling official ensure that your name is on the voter list
  • Check your ID proof
  • An official inks your finger, hand you a slip and ask you to sign on a register
  • Deposit slip with the concerned polling official, flash inked finger and then got to the booth
  • Vote -press the button against the symbol of the candidate of your voice. You will now hear a beep.
  • You can also choose NOTA if you do not want to vote for a candidate. It is the last button on the EVM

  • Electoral photo-identity card (EPIC) Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • Service ID Cards with photograph issued by Government and Public Sector Companies
  • Bank Passbook with Photo
  • PAN Card
  • Smart Card Issued By Registrar-General Of India Under National Population Register,
  • MNREGA Job Card
  • Insurance Smart Card Issued Under The Ministry Of Labour
  • Pension Document With Photo
  • Official ID Cards Issued To MPs, MLAs, and MLCs
  • Aadhaar

Karnataka General Elections 2019 – Interesting Facts

  • The population of Karnataka – 61,130,704
  • Total number of voters – 50,307,182
  • Female – 24, 846,488
  • Male voters – 25,455,976
  • The total number of voters in Bangalore – 90,83,554. Female – 43,48,452. Male -47,33,562
  • 7 constituencies have more female voters – Dakshina Kannada, Udupi-Chikmagalur, Mysore-Kodagu, Koppal, Raichur, Shivamogga, Ballari
  • Total number of polling stations – 58,186, a 7% increase from 2014 general elections
  • 600 polling booths will be managed by women
  • These booths will only have female polling staff, police and security personals
  • Number of registered voters – 5.03 crore
  • NRIs can’t vote in the election
