Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme - How To Apply Online, Check Status

The Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme, offered by the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Limited (KMDCL), provides subsidies to eligible individuals to purchase vehicles, promoting entrepreneurship. It is also known as the “Karnataka Swavalambi Sarathi Yojana” or the “Karnataka Vehicle Purchase Subsidy Scheme.” The scheme provides financial aid to buy passenger auto rickshaws, taxis and goods vehicles. It is one of the noteworthy government schemes in Karnataka.

Scheme Benefits

The Swavalambi Sarathi scheme aims to provide financial assistance on the purchase of vehicles to the religious minority, SC, ST and OBC (Other backward castes).

The scheme provides beneficiaries with the opportunity to buy

Goods vehicle
Taxi

Subsidy for beneficiaries

SC and ST beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of 75% or up to Rs. 4,00,000/- of the vehicle cost.
OBC and Minority beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of 50% or up to Rs. 3,00,000/- of the vehicle cost.
Beneficiaries will receive Rs. 75,000/- on the purchase of passenger autos.
Loan facilities are also available for the remaining balance of the vehicle’s purchase cost.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Karnataka.
The applicant should belong to the religious minority, SC, ST & other backward castes as defined in the Government Order.
The applicant should be between the age of 18 and 55
The annual family income of the applicant from all sources should not exceed 4,50,000/-
The applicant should possess a valid Driving Licence as issued by the Regional Transport Officer.
Any of the members from the applicant family should not be a Central or State Government employee.
The applicant or any of his/her family members should not have benefited from any of the KMDCL schemes in the last 5 years except the ‘Arivu Scheme.’

Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme – How to apply

Enter your mobile number and click on the submit button.
Through OTP verification, the portal will verify the beneficiary’s mobile number and Aadhaar card.
After the OTP verification, select Swavalambi Sarathi Yojana from the scheme list
Click on ‘Apply online,’ fill in the necessary details, and upload the required documents.
Cross-check the details and click on the submit button.
A selection panel will check the details and the documents of the applicants.
If selected, the beneficiaries of the Swavalambi scheme will receive the subsidy amount in their bank account.
