About Us

Karnataka is one of India’s largest and fastest-changing states, and a lot of useful information about it — exam schedules, welfare scheme eligibility, transit routes, festival dates — is scattered across government notifications, PDFs and local news. Our mission is to bring that information together in one place, explain it in plain language, and keep it current as rules, dates and figures change year to year.

How Karnataka.com Started

Karnataka.com was founded by BG Mahesh, who has built and run online information portals in India since the early days of the country’s internet industry. The site grew out of a simple idea: give Karnataka the same kind of structured, easy-to-navigate reference that a state of this size and diversity deserves.

Our Editorial Process

Every page starts from official or primary sources — bodies like KSEAB, KEA, BBMP and other government departments, along with recognised datasets such as the Census and NFHS. Where a figure or a policy detail can’t be independently confirmed at the time of writing, we say so rather than guess.

Pages tied to annual events — exam results, admission cycles, scheme deadlines, pricing data — are reviewed and updated on an annual cycle rather than left to stale. Older articles are periodically revisited: if a page is outdated, we either update it in place or replace it and redirect the old link, so readers and search engines are never sent to dead information.

Corrections & Accuracy

We aim to be accurate, but Karnataka’s schemes, fees, exam patterns, and figures change frequently, and we don’t always catch changes as soon as they happen. If you spot something outdated or incorrect, we’d genuinely like to know — please use the link below to let us know, and we’ll review it.

Not the Official Government Website

To be clear: Karnataka.com is an independent, privately run information portal. It is not the official website of the Government of Karnataka and has no government affiliation. For official services, forms and notifications, visit karnataka.gov.in.

Contribute to Karnataka.com

We work with freelance writers and photographers who know Karnataka well — its districts, festivals, food and history. If you have content or photos you think our readers would find useful, we’d like to hear from you.
