City Engineering College is a private coeducational institution for technical education. It was set up in the year 2001 under the Jayanagar Education Society. The college is located on the Doddakalasandra Kanakapura Road.
The college is affiliated under the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)
To be eligible for admission into the engineering courses offered by the college a candidate must have completed 10 + 2 or equivalent level of study with a minimum of 45% marks in PCM / PMCS / PMEC. Candidates who are from the SC / ST categories and belong to the state of Karnataka are eligible for admission with minimum 40% marks in PCM / PMCS / PMEC.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
To be eligible for admission into the masters program for business administration offered by the college a candidate must have qualified the Bachelor Degree Examination from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and a valid score in any of the Common Entrance Exams like CAT, MAT, KMAT, etc. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST or Category I BC in Karnataka state, the aggregate percentage for eligibility is 45% and a valid score in CAT, MAT, KMAT or any other Common Entrance Exam is necessary.
Training and Placement Cell
The training and placement cell of City Engineering College provides all the necessary training and guidance needed for the recruitment of students in reputed organizations and companies. The placement cell undertakes several initiatives to train the students in presentation skills, interpersonal skills, listening skills, soft skills, personal grooming, situational conversation, logic & reasoning, team building, etc. Students are groomed for placement interviews through pre-placement talks, written tests, group discussions, and mock interviews. Seminars and counselling sessions are also conducted to instil confidence in the students.
