Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Dates And Interesting Facts

The Election Commission (EC) of India announced the dates of the Lok Sabha (LS) election for 2024. Karnataka will also go into polls along with the other states of the country. Karnataka Lok Sabha Election 2024 will be held in 2 phases. There are 28 constituencies in the state, and 14 of them will go to polls in each phase.

Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Dates

14 constituencies will go into the poll in the 1st phase of Karnataka (2nd phase in India) on April 26th. The second phase in Karnataka (3rd phase in India) will take place on May 7th. Below listed are the 28 constituencies in Karnataka. Results on June 4, 2024 (Tuesday).

Karnataka General Elections 2024 – How To Find Your Booth

  • Visit electoralsearch.eci.gov.in or use Voter Helpline App to know your booth number. You need to note down your part number and serial number.
  • Call voter helpline 1950 (prefix STD code)
  • SMS space to 1950

Karnataka Lok Sabha Election 2024- The Voting Process

  • Polling officials ensure that your name is on the voter list
  • Check your ID proof
  • An official inks your finger, hands you a slip and asks you to sign on a register
  • Deposit a slip with the concerned polling official, flash an inked finger and then go to the booth
  • Vote -press the button against the symbol of the candidate of your voice. You will now hear a beep.
  • You can also choose NOTA if you do not want to vote for a candidate. It is the last button on the EVM

  • Smart Card Issued By Registrar-General Of India Under National Population Register,
  • MNREGA Job Card
  • Insurance Smart Card Issued Under The Ministry Of Labour
  • Pension Document With Photo
  • Official ID Cards Issued To MPs, MLAs, and MLCs

Karnataka General Elections 2024 – Interesting Facts (to be updated)

  • Karnataka is gearing up for the Lok Sabha election 2024. In the 2019 election, out of 28 Lok Sabha constituencies, BJP won 26, while Congress and JD(S) won one seat. Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh won one seat. She defeated her nearest rival, Nikhil Kumaraswamy of the JD(S)-Congress alliance in the Mandya constituency. Let us look into the interesting aspects of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Karnataka.

Number Of voters in Lok Sabha election, Karnataka

  • Total no of voters: 5,42,54,500
  • Male: 2,71,66,220
  • Female: 2,70,83,347
  • Others: 4,933

Increase in the number of voters 

Compared to the 2019 election, there is a six percent increase in the number of voters eligible to cast votes. This increase includes 

  • Male voters: 5%
  • Female voters: 7 %
  • Transgenders: 7%
  • Specially abled: 42%
  • Total polling booths: 58,834
  • Urban: 21,595

How to apply for enrolling names in the voters’ list

Those who complete 18 years by March 31 still have the chance to cast their votes. They need to apply for enrollment through the form no 6.

Voter registration is a very easy process. Hence, citizens of India can visit here and register online by clicking here. They can complete Form 6 and submit the filled-up applications with the required documents to their BLO.

NRIs can register their names in the voter list by clicking here. They need to fill up the form number 6A to register their name. Alternatively, eligible people can download the voters’ helpline App

More women voters in 17 LS constituencies 

According to the data released by the ECI, 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state have more female voters than male voters. These constituencies are

Election Code of Conduct

  • Carrying cash above Rs.50,000 without valid documents is prohibited
  • Water supply through tankers is also considered a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Voting in Namma Bengaluru

Voting in Namma Bengaluru will be held in the first phase. 78,90,480 are eligible to cast their votes.

Highest number of voters in North Bengaluru

Bengaluru North has the highest number of voters, with 31,74,098 voters. 23,98,910 voters are eligible to cast their voting rights in Bengaluru Central. In Bengaluru South, 23,17,472 are eligible to cast votes.

The highest number of voters is in the age group of 40 to 49 years, with 25,90,772 voters in this age bracket. This age group is followed by the 30 to 39 age group with 25,63,307 voters.

Nineteen voters in the Bengaluru urban area are above 120 years old!

Casting votes at the comfort of home

The Election Commission of India allows senior citizens above 85 years and those who are physically disabled to cast their votes from the comfort of their homes.
