The Acharya Institute of Technology is a private centre of education. Set up in 2000, the institute is located in a 200-acre campus on Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishan Road, Hessarghatta Main Road, Bangalore. The college is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), and it is accredited to the National Board of Accreditation. The Acharya Institute of Technology is also approved by AICTE.
Managed by the JMJ Education Society, the Acharya Institute of Technology has built up its reputation over the years, and it is regularly listed in surveys ranking engineering colleges in Karnataka and India.
What Does it Offer?
The institute offers graduate, post-graduate as well as doctoral programs. The B Tech courses offered here include BE in Aeronautical, Automobile, Biotechnology, Civil, Computer Science, Construction Technology and Management, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and communication, Information Science and Mechanical Engineering. There are also M Tech programs in Computer Science, Machine Design, Digital Communication and Bio-Technology.
The Acharya Institute of Technology also offers a doctoral study program in maths. In addition, it also runs MBA and MCA courses. The institute also regularly conducts seminars and workshops. The students are encouraged to actively participate in these national-level events. There is also an active industry interaction. All these events and activities have resulted in a high level of interest in the college during the placement season. Every year, nearly 100 companies turn up for campus interviews, and the recruitment levels are high.
The faculty is highly experienced and committed. Most of them have an industrial as well as an academic background. Most of the faculty members regularly publish their papers in various journals.
Research and Grants
The Acharya Technological Institute places considerable emphasis on research. The Visvesvaraya Technological University recognizes four of its departments as research centers. These are the biotechnology, Mechanical, Mathematics and Electronics and Communication Departments.
The institute also receives grants from AICTE for its research projects and lab upgrade. The institute has constantly focused on improving industry interaction. The various programs it conducts under this segment include Infosys Campus connect, SAP Lab training, Wipro Mission 10X, Microsoft IT Academy, IBM Software Centre of Excellence, IBM Incubation Centre and Novell Centre of Excellence. These initiatives have provided training to several students in various fields.
