Kali River at Dandeli National Park is best place if your a lover of adventure and passion for water.Rafting in Kali is a real pleasure as the name suggests the water appears to be black due to coloration of the rock underneath. Kalihas its own charm and thrills.
The 9 Km route has 7-9 rapids between 1-3 grades. The rapids depend on the release of the water from the dam. Kali being a perennial river has water throughout the year. The best time to raft is between October and February.
On the backwaters of Shravathi is a place called Honnemardu – a haven for aqua adventure enthusiasts. Lovers of water sports throng this idyllic spot for coracle rafting, canoeing and windsurfing. Numerous islands dotting the backwaters make it an ideal island camping site, too.
River Rafting is an exciting & thrilling aqua sport . This is being conducted in Cauvery River, a place called Bheemeshwari around 100 Kms from Bangalore. The rafting starts from Bheemeshwari and passes through thick forests, which is in Cauvery Wildlife sanctuary, Kanakapura Division, and the rafting event is around 8 Kms. This swift and powerful river stretch is through beautiful valley the real experience through the wilderness.
Around 260 Kilometers from Bangalore situated near Davangere is Kondaji. Kondaji is gifted with a beautiful and vast expanse of simmering lake with hills and forest as back drop. Kayaking, Coracle ride and surfing is offered by the General Thimmayya National Academy of Adventure, Department of Youth Services & Sports, Government of Karnataka.
Srirangapatna has also added Kayaking and rafting into their itinerary. KSTDC has a package for Rs 600 per day which includes lunch and snack.
