August 30, 2011 by Raggi Mudde

Resort Overview

The Kapila Cauvery River flows right along a historical place of tourist interest called Talakadu, which was once ruled by great kings like Harshavardhana, emperors from the Rashtra Kuta Dynasty and the Rajas of Vijayanagar.

The Talakadu Jaladhama Resort is located just 4 km from the tourist hotspot of Talakadu. It offers a wonderful view of the Madavamantri Dam, and the region surrounding the resort is unpolluted and offers the right setting for any wishing to indulge in quiet introspection through meditation or Yoga.

Devotees of Lord Shiva will be happy to visit the well known Somanatheshwara temple as well as the Shivana Samudra waterfalls that are located nearby. These spots lie 20 km away from the resort. If you travel a further 50 km, you can visit the K.R.S. Dam and watch exotic birds at the Ranganatithu Bird Sanctuary.

Facilities Offered

Facilities to play games like cricket, football, volleyball and table tennis will be available in the resort and the 18 cottages in this place are located near well maintained gardens. The cottages have been designed keeping in mind the privacy and ethnic interests of the visitors. Each cottage has an attached bathroom and you can choose from among cottages with three, four or six beds.

The suites are large and each suite covers an area of around 650 square feet, equipped with all modern conveniences. You can either choose a nest type of accommodation (two bedroom options) or go for group cottages that can accommodate between 15 – 20 people.
