The VidyaVardhaka College of Engineering or VVCE affiliated to the Visveswaraiah Technological University was established in the year of 1997 with an aim to impart excellent technical education from its campus in Mysore.
The VVCE is one amongst the 8 educational institutions run by the VidyaVardhaka Sangha, whose main vision is to impart technical education to all irrespective of caste or creed. The VidyaVardhaka Sangha was established in 1949 by veterans like Late Sahukhar Chennaiah and Late K Puttaswamy, who were former minister of Karnataka.
The mission of VVCE is to create a strong community of individuals who are responsible and share a vision with respect to the fields of engineering, science and management. Every course offered by the VVCE entitles its students to do a comprehensive research not just pertaining to the main discipline but also on related fields involved, which influence the main discipline.
What Does it Offer?
The VVCE offers Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with disciplines in the following fields:

The college, in collaboration with the Virtual Education Society, New Delhi offers degrees that can be obtained from the comfort of your home. Courses offered for virtual learning include a Master of Science in Information Technology MSc. (IT), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology BSc.(IT) &M.Tech(IT). All the afore-mentioned degrees are affiliated to the Karnataka State Open University, Mysore.
The VVCE has separate accommodation for boys and girls and encourages sports and games. It conducts various inter-collegiate sports tournaments and has facilities for a host of indoor and outdoor games. There are several buses that connect the campus with the city centre; it is located approximately 4kms from the Mysore City Railway Station. Each department in VVCE has its own association that conduct various inter-collegiate cultural and academic meets. The students of VVCE also take part in a lot of initiatives like Blood Donation, AIDS Awareness, and Tree Plantation camps.
The college also provides scholarships and awards to meritorious students from backward communities. It has a full-fledged placement cell that prepares its students for jobs and the corporate life by imparting techniques and skills needed in order to secure a good placement and succeed in the company later on.

The College has had its fair share of research and each and every course offered in the university includes a chance for its students to do individual research and gain knowledge not only in their specialized field, but also in other allied subjects and disciplines.

The VVCE is headed by its President Sri. GundappaGowda and is assisted by S.L.Prasad, the Vice President of the VVCE. The Secretary of the VVCE is P.Vishwanath and the Treasurer is T.N.Venkatachalaiah.
