Nelamangala

Located in the District of Bangalore, Nelamangala lies in the state of Karnataka, India.  This little town is known for its magnificent temples and its festivals. Manufacturing of Silk cloth, incense stick and handicrafts are the main sources of income in this place.  Adepete, the commercial center of this town, is also the busiest. One of the oldest temples, Mahalingeshwara, which has the influence of Chola Empire in its style of Architecture is situated in this area and is a favorite spot for pilgrims and tourists. A park that boasts of beauty and serenity and which contains glorious sculptures is located in Binnamangala another popular tourist destination.

At a distance of two kilometers from Nelamangala is Basavanahalli, a place that’s rich in history. The two temples, Shree Laxmivenkataraman Swamy Temple and the Shree Vynatheyar Temple, which has been renovated by the Vijayanagara Empire has been attracting thousands of pilgrims and tourists from around the globe. The Mukhamantapa and the Shakapushkarani are two ponds near these temples which are considered to be holy. The Rudradeva Temple that has been influenced by the Mysore style of architecture is another spot worth visiting.  The Udhbhava Ganesha Temple and the Shree Ranganatha Swamy Temple situated in T.Beguru are also popular destinations in this town.  It’s best to visit this place during the monsoon season.
