Shri Shaktidarshan Yogashram – An Overview
The aim of the Yogashram is to enlighten the lives of the human beings through proper yoga and meditation. Dev Baba believes that the right frame of mind needed to come in touch with the Almighty can be achieved only through pure meditation in a serene place like the Himalayas. But he also knows that it is not possible for everyone to go to the Himalayas and meditate there. Hence, he established the ashram in a silent and serene environment where people can meditate in peace.
Architecture
Shri Shaktidarshan Yogashram is a place with an impressive structure. The multi-storied building of the ashram stands tall among the green surroundings. The main gate of the ashram leads visitors to a raft house or machan having a broad enclosure. This structure has been constructed for a saint from Himalayas, called Devarah Hamsa Baba, who visits the ashram and spends time there.
The Annapoorna building on the left of the entrance is another important structure of the ashram. The ashram is decorated with a beautiful lotus pond, a Zen garden and a lawn drenched in greenery. The main building of the ashram is called Sadhana Mandir (Meditation Shrine). There is also an office and the living quarters of the voluntary members of the ashram.
The large meditation hall of the building is the main attraction of the ashram. This is the place where people meditate in complete silence and try to experience the presence of the Almighty through their meditation.
A unique attraction of the ashram is the presence of seven small pyramid-shaped rooms and a big pyramid-shaped room which is used by Dev Baba for meditation. The smaller pyramid rooms are used by the members of the ashram for meditation. There is a Yoga nagar area inside the ashram premises. It has the Yogi Dhama, the place where Sadhavi Malathi Amma meditates.
The members of the ashram celebrate many festivals like Guru Purnima, Gau Puja, etc.
