Devbagh Beach Resort is located in the converging landscape in northern Karnataka along the Karwar and Goa border. The resort is mainly popular because it is considered to be a bird watcher’s heaven and lucky visitors can even go hunting for crabs or looking for jackals in the night.

The resort allows its visitors to take a brief walk to the nearby Devbagh village and spend some time seeing and talking to the fishermen, to get a better understanding of how they deal with their daily stock of fishes. The resort is also a well-known destination for adventure tourists. If you’ve an adventurous streak in you, you can indulge in snorkeling, parasailing, banana boat cruises, kayaking and water scooter riding with or without skilled instructors.

Facilities Offered

devbagh-beach-resort-karwarThe Devbagh Beach Resort is actually surrounded by casuarinas grove which faces the private beach. The resort has eight log cabins, six fishermen huts and four cottages that have attached baths. You can choose to live in one among the two houseboats, which have ultra-modern conferencing facilities. All guests are treated to typical Indian non-vegetarian delicacies at Gol-Ghar, which is an open-to-sides circular gazebo.

During the rainy season, guests are treated to sumptuous seafood preparations. Seafood preparations in this resort always involve the fresh catch of the day. You can keep warm beside the campfire, and enjoy the experience of barbecuing. You can entertain yourself with various kinds of water sports, beach volleyball competitions or simply laze around and nestle in the shadows of hammocks to watch the vibrant sea.

In order to spend a very serene vacation, you should opt for a sea-facing room. To rejuvenate your and mind, you can get a fulfilling Ayurvedic Spa treatment done, or you can head to the nearby island and try to spot some dolphins frolicking in the azure sea water.

How to Get to the Resort

If you wish to travel by air, then you can land at Dabolim Airport and head towards Karwar, which is a two hour drive from the airport.

If you’re traveling from Bangalore, you’ll have to cover a distance of 524 km to reach Karwar. You’ll need to travel via Hubli to reach the resort. You can also take private or government buses that run between Bangalore and Karwar.

Tourists can go to the Jungle Lodges office that’s located right opposite Hotel Badra, for a complimentary boat transfer to Devbagh Beach Resort.

  • You can kill time by collecting shells along the sea or building sandcastles with your friends
  • Tying up a hammock near the beach and reading book while swinging in the wind can be fun
  • You can opt for adventure sports like banana boat rides, speedboat cruises, snorkeling and parasailing
  • Spotting dolphins from the beach is also a common phenomenon in this resort
