Avandoor Falls – Lying 22 kilometres away from Madikeri is the Avandoor Falls. The Avandoor Falls are composed of several streams that join together and continue down the mountain slope into the Kaveru river. Monsoon season is the time of year when the flow of water down the falls reaches its peak. The Avandoor Falls are located in the Avandoor Forest, hence the name. A hanging bridge has been constructed close to the waterfall for the benefit of the tourists.
Kote Betta- Kote Betta, at an elevation of 5400 ft. above sea level, is the third highest peak in the entire Kodagu District. Kote Betta is located in Madapur and is 22kms from Madikeri. Trekking distance to the peak from the headquarters is 14 kms. It is a perfect place for trekking in Coorg, with the best season for trekking being between October to March. The resort provides guides for trekking, and no extra permission is necessary from the authorities to trek Kote Betta.
The Madikeri Fort –The Madikeri fort was built in the 19th century by the King Lingaraja and is situated in the centre of the town of Madikeri. Now it houses various law courts, state government offices, and the public library. Inside the fort you can also find the ancient Ganesha temple, statues of two elephants, and a stone turtle in the courtyard of the fort. A chapel turned museum is also present inside the fort which was built by the British after the accession in 1834.
