Nagavara Lake, Bangalore – A Lake with a Difference

Nagavara Lake is one of the popular attractions of Bangalore. The lake is situated in the Outer Ring Road of Bangalore. The beauty of the lake has an appeal of its own. Adding to the natural beauty of the lake is the recently developed Lumbini Gardens that stands on the banks of the water body. The lake is spread across an area of 43.86 hectares. It has been developed by the lake authority of India.

The beautifully landscaped lake and the surrounding Lumbini Gardens is the ideal destination for spending a relaxed time within the limits of the city.

The beauty of the Nagavara Lake

The Nagavara Lake is one of the spectacular lakes of Bangalore. The well-maintained walkway of the lake is a pleasant place to go on leisurely walks. The lake has the water-front leisure park Lumbini Gardens adjacent to it. Developed at a huge cost of Rs. 10 crore, the garden has enhanced the attraction of the lake by several degrees. The park is also an ideal location to sit back and relax while watching the large water body in front. The colourful musical fountains are a delightful sight here. In a city that is witnessing rapid development and growth in terms of structures and high-rises the lake stands as a major attraction for the people. It is one of the few places where people can spend their time enjoying the various attractions of the water park or taking pleasure in watching others enjoy there.

Main attractions of the Nagavara Lake, Bangalore

The Nagavara Lake in Bangalore is famous for the various leisure activities that it offers. It is among the most popular spots of the city for boating and water related activities.

Among the top attractions of the lake are speed boat rides for individuals that offer a guide to accompany the rider for safety purposes. It is a thrill to go on such short rides at a speed of 60 to 80 km per hour.

Lumbini Gardens also has various other boat rides such as pedal boats, bumper boating, family bumper boat rides, boating on jet skies and leisure boating for the entertainment of the visitors.

Another major attraction of the lake is the artificial wave pool in the Lumbini Gardens. Normally the artificial pool area is the most crowded part of the park. It has a pool with a length of about 100 metres. The artificial waves are not very huge and people can easily enjoy a dip in this area.

The place has decent changing rooms. So, all you have to do to enjoy the water is to carry your own swimwear and get into the water.

The floating restaurant and the floating coffee shop are also popular among the visitors.

The amusement park also holds several attractions for the children. There are swings, children’s pool, vortex, simulated games and various other attractions to keep the children busy and active. The lake hosts musical shows and parties on special occasions and festivals.

Timings for visiting the Nagavara Lake, Bangalore

The Nagavara Lake is open to public on all days of the week.

The lake is open from 10 am to 7 pm.

How to reach the Nagavara Lake, Bangalore

Bangalore is a well-connected city. The city can be reached from all parts of the country through various air, rail and road networks. There are several flights, trains and buses that carry passengers from all parts of the country to the capital city of Karnataka.

The Nagavara Lake is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Bangalore. The lake is situated in the heart of the city and is easily reachable from various corners of the city.

Visitors can hire cabs or taxis to reach the lake. Ample bus services are available to the lake. Auto rickshaws can also be hired to reach the lake from several parts of Bangalore.

The lake is also included in the package tour services provided by Karnataka State Tourism. With so many transport options, reaching the lake is not at all a problem.
