Bangalore, the Capital of Karnataka, is one of the leaders in the field of Information Technology in India and a good number of internet ventures operate from this state, most of which are from Bangalore. Several e-commerce portals that are popular in the country have their base in Karnataka. People tend to mix up the software industry with the internet industry but both are different.

The internet industry of this state has been flourishing over the years and has made lives much easier for the people living here.  From booking tickets, ordering food, flowers, books, grocery, clothes to buying and selling used items, real estate, renting houses and buildings, sending gifts, job search and much more are made possible through these internet ventures.

There are also some internet portals in Karnataka that are worth mentioning and that which address’ health issues.  Cyber-crimes and being cheated online are on the rise along with the growth of internet industry.  A Cyber Crime Police Station has been operating in the state since 2001, which was also the first of its kind in the country.
