Karnataka elections 2023 to elect the 224 member Assembly is scheduled to be held on 10th May with the counting of votes to take place on 13th May. A stiff competition is anticipated between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress along with the Janata Dal Secular (JD-S).
In the 2018, the BJP proved to be victorious in 104 seats, nine short of 113, owing to which the Congress and JDS joined hands to form the government. However, after 14 months, the government led by HD Kumaraswamy collapsed.
