Myra Vineyards was founded by Ajay Shetty in December 2011. Headquartered in Bangalore, the vineyard was established to create wines that entice the taste of discerning enthusiasts. The brand follows the policy of offering high quality wines that can be enjoyed by everyone.
The brand has established a name for itself in a short duration of time. The young brand has been awarded the gold medal at the Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards (IWCCA) 2012 for one of its most popular wines, Myra’s Shiraz for being the favorite premium wine in the non-reserve Shiraz category. It has been successfully adding an enjoyable and award winning selection of White and Red wines to its kitty.

The brand is handled by a young and passionate team. The core team at Myra Vineyards consists of three people, Ajay Shetty, Nikhil Agarwal and Dr. Rajesh Rasal. Ajay Shetty is an ex-banker and has been a wine aficionado for many years. Nikhil Agarwal is a trained sommelier with twelve years of experience in the field of wine and spirits. He is the chief advisor and the wine consultant for the brand. Rajesh Rasal is the winemaker for the brand with a decade long experience in the wine sector. This core team is keen to enhance the wine drinking experience of the people by offering wines that taste better and are of higher quality.
The brand also has a spirited and growing sales and marketing team who are actively working to improve its presence in the market.
Wine Making
The brand is currently producing wines through contract farming with vineyards at two locations: Dindori at Nashik in Maharashtra and at Bijapur in Karnataka. It is producing wines as per the market demand for its products, which are more than 1 lakh litres.
The brand uses different varietals and latest wine making techniques to produce high quality wines that will delight the taste buds of wine lovers.
Offerings from Myra Vineyards
The Myra label presently has four offerings – two in the white category ((Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc)) and two in the red category (Shiraz and Cabernet). All the labels are sold under the mother brand Myra Vineyards.
Though there are just four labels, they cover a variety that ranges from light bodied wines to full bodied wines. All the wines are designed to present a fine taste that can be enjoyed in every occasion and even on daily basis by every kind of wine lover, from connoisseurs to experimenters.
Market presence of Myra Vineyards
Presently, all the labels of the brand are sold in the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Reasonably priced and attractively packaged, the labels are attracting the attention of wine enthusiasts at these two markets. The brand wants to establish its presence in Goa, Delhi and the Eastern parts of the country over the next few months.
The brand is currently distributing to the retail outlets across Karnataka and Maharashtra and plans to enter the super-market and five star restaurant chains soon.
The core team of the brand plans to establish its own vineyards. For this purpose they have procured around 70 acres of land in the Chikkaballapura district of Karnataka.
Support for social causes
The brand has associated itself with quite a few social causes. It supports the activities of the Atma Foundation. It sponsors events like golf tournament at Coorg, music programs and art festivals like Art Bengaluru, etc.
