Why Karnataka Bypolls?

Sira fell vacant due to the demise of JDS MLA B Sathyanarayana. RR Nagar had no representative since 2019 as MLA N Munirathna from Congress defected to the BJP.

There are two more vacant seats in the Karnataka Assembly – Maski and Basavakalyan in Bidar. The elections for those seats are yet to be announced.
