Bhadra Dam is built on the river Bhadra, a tributary of the River Tungabhadra. It is situated in Chikmagalur, a town in Karnataka. Irrigation and irrigation storage are some of the best benefits that this dam offers. It also provides power to towns and villages nearby. It was commissioned in 1965.

Bhadra Dam – a Wildlife Sanctuary and Tourist Attraction
The Bhadra river flows through the Bhadra Wildlife Tiger Sanctuary and Bhadra Reservoir. The sanctuary has avifauna like red spurfowl, painted bushquail, emerald dove, black woodpecker, green imperial pigeon, Malabar parakeet, mesh crocodiles, hill mynas, gaurs, leopards, wild boar etc.
Various kinds of butterflies can be seen as well.
