Located in the lap of the Western Ghats, in the region of Sakleshpur is The Rappa, an island eco-lodge. The lodge is located away from noisy and polluted urban region, and it is an ideal weekend getaway where you can relax and unwind.
Surrounded by backwaters, the 70 acre island resort gives an adrenaline rush to adventure enthusiasts and provides enchanting views to nature lovers. The Rappa organizes programs on various topics such as astronomy, adventure activities, geology, ecology, animals, plants, and environmental conservation in an atmosphere where the key ingredients include arts, games, music and laughter.
There are many packages that you can choose from at The Rappa according to your convenience. The different packages that are offered include Groups Special, Two Days and Two Nights, Two Days and One Night and One Day and One Night. The campsite also offers three different types of accommodation, namely, multiple sharing, twin sharing and igloo tents.
According to the room plan, lunch is served on the day of check-in and breakfast on the day of check-out. Basic medical needs are attended to by an in-house doctor. In an effort to support the Go Green initiative, the campsite doesn’t utilize any generators or power backups that consume fuel. For this reason, guests have to use candles during power cuts.
How to Get to the Resort
The Rappa is located 210 km away from Bangalore in the Hassan district. The drive from Bangalore to this resort will take three hours and from Mysore, it will take two hours. The nearest airport is the Bangalore airport, which lies 220 km from Hassan. The district is also well connected to cities like Mangalore, Mysore and Bangalore via trains.

All bookings are confirmed only after the payment is made. However, reservations can be blocked up to seven days, three days and one day if the check-in date is less than 60 days, 30 days, and seven days away, respectively.
The charges for a person per night will revolve around INR 1200 and INR 1,500 (exclusive of taxes) for multiple-sharing and twin-sharing accommodation options. Children aged between 5 to 12 years are charged 50% of the tariff. Extra nights spent in the package plans are charged on the basis of the normal tariff. Both Indians and foreigners are evenly charged.
