Bangalore Habba 2024 (BLR Hubba) is a 16-day arts and culture festival in Bangalore from 30 November to 15 December. It is undoubtedly a cultural extravaganza with over 500 events across 40 locations catering to people’s various interests. This year marks the festival’s second edition, drawing inspiration from global cultural festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Bangalore Habba (BLR Hubba) an overview
Bangalore Habba came to form with the creative aspirations of Unboxing BLR Foundation, cofounded by Prashanth Prakash and Malini Goyal. The non-profit foundation came into being from their book ‘Unboxing BLR’, which deals with the city’s evolution and potential. Furthermore, the foundation engages in various undertakings like publishing data reports and participating in urban conservation, such as maintaining lakes and museums, producing podcasts, etc. However, the habba is to portray Bangalore beyond its identity as a tech city. It aims at showcasing Bangalore as an art and cultural hub as well.
The festival gets its name as BLR Hubba, deriving the term ‘BLR’ from Bangalore’s airport code and ‘Hubba’ from ‘Habba’, which means festival in Kannada. Hence, the Habba or BLR Hubba showcases the city’s cosmopolitan outlook and heritage on the one hand and it being the hub of technology, art, and culture on the other.

The Bangalore Habba 2024 focuses on ten categories, including heritage, music, theatre, dance, technology, design, and literature. More than seventy percentage (about 350) of the events allow free entry.
