All about Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023

Voting to select 16th Karnataka assembly will be held in a single phase and on May 10. The counting will be on May 13. The election process will complete by May 15, 2023.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar made an announcement in this regard. The code of conduct is already implemented.

In the 15th assembly, currently BJP has 119, Congress has 75 and JDS has 28 MLAs. 

Among the 224 assembly constituencies, 36 are reserved for Scheduled Caste, 15 are for Scheduled Tribes, and 173 are for General Category.

  • Over 10 lakh (1 million) voters are the first-time voters
  • 2.62 crores are male
  • 2.59 crores are female
  • 4,699 transgenders
  • Gender ratio for 1000 men is 988 women
