The Yuva Nidhi Scheme is one of the five guarantee schemes of the Karnataka government aimed at promoting the welfare of the state’s youth. The scheme’s goal is to provide financial assistance to unemployed youth in Karnataka who have completed their degree or diploma courses and are awaiting job placement.
Benefits of the scheme
- The Yuva Nidhi Scheme provides a monthly allowance of Rs. 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders and Rs. 3,000 for degree holders (both undergraduate and postgraduate) for a period of two years or until employment is secured, whichever occurs first.
- It also provides skill training for the eligible youth during the stipend period.
- During this period, eligible youth can prepare for competitive exams, focus on pursuing their desired job, or equip themselves to become self-employed.
- It enables eligible youth to stay financially independent while they focus on establishing themselves in their lives.
Yuva Nidhi Scheme Eligibility Criteria
- The primary requirement for applying for the Yuva Nidhi is that the applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- The applicant must have completed at least 6 years of education in Karnataka.
- For the scheme’s eligibility, the applicant must be a diploma or degree holder in 2022 or later.
- The applicant should be unemployed for at least 6 months after graduation.
- Furthermore, the applicant should not be self-employed or engaged in business, whether with or without a loan.
- The applicant should not avail himself of the benefits of ESI, PF, or NPS.
- The applicant should not pursue higher education after completing a degree or diploma.
- The individual should not also be availing of the state or central government benefits for self-employment.
- The applicant should be receiving a stipend from the apprenticeship.
- Youth who are already working full-time or part-time in the government or private sector are not eligible for the scheme.

How to check academic details on the Karnataka NAD (National Academic Depository) portal
Before applying for the scheme, students must first verify that their academic details are available on the Karnataka NAD portal. Without this information, an application cannot be submitted.
- Visit the Karnataka NAD portal
- On the homepage, click on Yuva Nidhi Eligibility Check
- The chatbot will question, “Have you graduated in 2023/2024?” You will have to select Yes or No.
- Then, you will need to select your qualification from the options provided: diploma or degree.
Select your university name, enter your registration number, select the year of passing for the degree or diploma, enter your name as in the Aadhaar, and click on the Send button.
After the above process, the NAD records will be searched, and you will get to know if your academic information is available or not.
If yes, the screen will show ‘Congratulations! Your degree/diploma certificate is available on the National Academic Depository (NAD).’ Upon seeing this, you can proceed with your application for Yuva Nidhi.
If no, ‘Sorry, your degree/diploma certificate is not available on the National Academic Depository (NAD).’ When you see this, you will have to wait until your university or the board updates your academic information on the NAD portal. You can also request your university or board to update your academic information on the NAD portal.
Yuva Nidhi Scheme – How to apply online
- Visit the Seva Sindhu Portal
- Click on Yuva Nidhi. You will be redirected to the Application for Yuva Nidhi Scheme.
- Alternatively, click here to directly apply.
- If you are a new user, click here to register.
- If you are a registered user, log in using your Seva Sindhu credentials.
- After logging in, read the self-declaration consent and accept it by selecting ‘Yes’ to proceed.
- Fill out the application form, providing the necessary details, including personal information, contact details, educational qualifications, and bank account details.
- Upload your scanned documents if prompted by the system, and click Save Annexure.
- Then preview the application and click on the Submit button.
- Note down your application number for future use.
Alternatively, you can also apply offline for the scheme by visiting the Grama One, Bangalore One, or Karnataka One office, Bapuji Seva Kendras, and Nada Kacheris.
Yuva Nidhi Scheme – How to check the status
To check the Yuva Nidhi scheme status,
- Visit the Seva Sindhu Services portal
- Log in with your registered credentials
- Under the Apply for services, click on View All Available Services
- In the search bar, type ‘Yuva Nidhi Status’ and click on Yuva Nidhi Application Status Check once the search results are displayed.
- Enter your Yuva Nidhi Application Reference Number.
- Select the month for which you wish to see the DBT status and click on the Get Payment Details button.
- You will then get to view your Yuva Nidhi application status, the current DBT status, and the self-declaration status on the screen.
