What Are The Transactions You Can Do On A Bank Holiday In Karnataka?

As one would imagine, banks are closed on a bank holiday. This means that any transaction that needs to be completed in the bank cannot be done on that day. This includes:

  • Making a demand draft
  • Opening or closing a bank account
  • Transferring money to another person through NEFT or RTGS
  • Collecting a cheque book
  • Collecting a debit card

What Are The Transactions You Cannot Do On A Bank Holiday In Karnataka?

However, not all banking services are unavailable. You can still make transactions on the bank’s website and app. This includes

  • Opening a fixed deposit
  • Starting a recurring deposit
  • Making a request to stop cheque payment

Bank Holidays In 2022 That Are only Applicable To Karnataka

Some bank holidays are applicable to banks across India while others are followed only in Karnataka or specific cities in Karnataka. For example, Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 1, is a bank holiday only in Bangalore.

Basava Jayanthi, Narak Chaturdashi , Balipadyami and Kanakadasa Janyanti are bank holidays applicable only to Karnataka.

Ugadi, Mahalaya, and Ayudha Puja are bank holidays only in Karnataka and a few other south Indian states.
