Water Scarcity In Bangalore – How To self-register For BBMP Water Tankers

The water level at KRS dam, Srirangapatna, in Mandya district, the only drinking water source for Namma Bengaluru, is rapidly depleting. Compared to previous years, the water level has decreased by half, resulting in a drinking water crisis in several areas of Bengaluru. To ensure regular water supply to people and regulate the private drinking water supply agencies, the BBMP has now made self-registration mandatory for all drinking water tankers. With March 7 being the last date to self-register for BBMP water tankers, know how to register.

The BBMP also wants to know whether owners are ready to give their tanker to the BBMP on a rental basis for the water supply owing to water scarcity in Bangalore.

How to self-register for BBMP water tankers

The BBMP created a separate portal for the self-registration of private drinking water tankers. Owing to water scarcity in Bangalore, know how to self-register for BBMP water tankers.

The tanker owners need to provide details of their tanker, their area of operation, and other information.

Details required for self-registration

  • Name of the owner
  • Permanent address
  • Zone (out of eight zones)
  • Pincode 
  • Name of the tanker owner
  • Tanker (vehicle) number
  • Tanker capacity in litres.
  • Driver’s name
  • Driving license number
  • Area of operation

By filling in all the details, the tanker owners must declare online, after which they can click the submit button.

The Bengaluru Urban District Administration has fixed the rates for each load of the private water tankers in terms of capacity in litres and the distance. Find below the rates.
