The Mahalakshmi temple is one of the most famous temples in Gubbi and was established in 2003. At a distance of 20 kms from Tumkur, lies Gubbi. Mahalakshmi temple, as the name suggests, is dedicated to the Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. A large number of businessmen and politicians regularly visit the temple. It holds prominent importance for the devotees. At the Mahalakshmi temple, Tuesdays and Fridays are considered very auspicious. Special poojas are performed on the two days and the temple is decorated. The temple provides free lunch to devotee’s every day throughout the year.

The Mahalakshmi temple boasts of intricate architecture and has three deities residing in the temple. The top of the temple attracts every devotee who enters the temple, carved statues of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi are found here. The temple has a modern architecture which reflects the style of South India. The Goddess Mahalakshmi is seen seated on a beautiful golden throne with carvings that decorate the throne. A small statue similar to the large one is seen beside the main statue. The temple gives a calm and serene feel to every devotee that enters the premises.
