Deva Raya Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Bellary district of Karnataka. Named after the kings of Vijayanagar Empire, the private sanctuary is maintained by the Association for the Preservation of the Environment based in Hyderabad. Deva Raya Wildlife Sanctuary boasts of a unique terrain of flora, fauna and is located near Bellary.
Deva Raya Wildlife Sanctuary protects leopards, wolves, peacocks, pythons, bears, hyenas, deer, monkeys like langur and rhesus, porcupines, crocodiles, wild bear, anteaters and a variety of plants and other animals.

Kavadi Kere: Kavadi Kere is at a distance of 9 kms in the Western Ghats. It is a lake with an ancient temple. The picturesque lake is spread over an area of 62 acres and there is a wide variety of birds fluttering in and around the area. One can sight giant sized butterflies and variety of wild orchids in this area. There is an ancient temple dedicated to the Goddess Durgadevi, located beside this lake.
