The Maravanthe Beach

Given its beautiful white sand expanses, the Maravanthe beach is also known as the virgin beach. The beach stretches for miles along the coast. For a small fee, fishermen at the nearby Gangoli port may allow tourists to accompany them on fishing expeditions.

The Maraswamy Temple

The Maraswamy Temple is another tourist attraction in the area. It has three garbhagrihas dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Narasimha, and Varaha or the wild boar. The presence of the three garbhagrihas makes this a unique temple. It is also known as the Varahaswamy temple. The rock drawings in front of the deities suggest that fish, crocodiles and tortoises are part of the temple rituals.

The Souparnika River

The Souparnika River borders the place. It almost meets the sea but turns inwards on the east of the temple. The river is spotted with small islands known as kudru. It is lined with coconut palms and green fields.
