Want to know about Karnataka unlock 3 guidelines? Taking steps towards returning to normalcy, the Karnataka state government has unlocked more services and eased COVID-19 related curbs with effect from July 5th, 2021. These guidelines will remain in effect till Jul19th, 2021. These unlock 3.0 guidelines are applicable in all parts of Karnataka except Kodagu.
Karnataka Unlock 3– Curfew status
The weekend curfew from Friday to Monday has been lifted but the daily night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am will continue as before.
- Night curfew to be lifted from Jan 31 - Schools to open in Bengaluru Urban district from Jan 31 - Gyms will continue with 50% capacity. - 100% capacity: Bars, hotels, Govt offices, Metro, buses - 50% capacity: Theatres, auditoriums, gyms, pools, indoor complexes - Offering prayers in the temples is also allowed. - Protest, sit-ins, religious congregations, political programs are prohibited - RTPCR test must if coming from Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa International Arrival Guidelines In Karnataka - All international passengers from high risk countries to be institutional quarantined directly from airport, if tested positive -All travelers must submit: -Self-declaration forms on the Air Suvidha portal before travel -A copy of an RT-PCR test taken no longer than 72 hours before the scheduled time of departure. -A declaration of authenticity for the report. -All travelers must agree to an undertaking on the Air Suvidha portal or the Ministry of Civil Aviation to abide with government rules of home quarantine or self-health monitoring as required. |

Karnataka Unlock 3 – Activities Allowed
- Shops and business establishments can remain open till 9pm
- Metro and public transport services can operate at full seated capacity
- Bengaluru Namma metro services will be available from 7am to 8pm from Monday to Friday at a frequency of 5 minutes during peak hours and 15 minutes during non-peak hours and 7am to 8pm from weekends and general holidays at increased/decreased frequency depending on patronage.
- Shopping malls, restaurant and bars to reopen while maintaining COVID-19 guidelines
- Bars can serve liquor
- Private and government offices can operate at full capacity
- Wedding ceremonies and social gathering can have up to 100 guests
- A maximum of 20 attendees to be permitted for funerals and last rites
- Sports complexes and swimming pools to reopen but only sportspersons will be permitted to enter
- Offices and industries that need to function at night will be allowed to operate and movement of employees affected will be permitted on producing valid company-issued identification documents.
What Remains Closed
- Pubs, multiplexes and cinema halls to remain closed
- No religious gatherings, protests or political gatherings to be permitted
- Educational institutions, schools and colleges to remain shut and continue with online classes
Karnataka Unlock 3 Guidelines For Individuals
All citizens are expected to wear masks and maintain social distancing in public spaces. Failure to wear masks properly will attract a fine of Rs 250 in urban areas and Rs 100 in rural areas.
- Face masks must be worn by all individuals in public places, offices and public transport
- Individuals must maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between them and others
- All shoppers must maintain social distancing.
- Spitting in public places is punishable by a fine
- Consumption of paan, gutka, liquor and tobacco in public places is prohibited
Karnataka Guidelines – Directives For Workplaces
- Employees should work in shifts to limit the number of people present in the office/commercial or industrial establishment at a time.
- Offices must be regularly sanitized between shifts. This includes common spaces, facilities, door handles, etc.
- As far as possible, employees should be allowed to continue working from home.
- All workers must be screened when entering the workplace.
- Handwash facilities and sanitizer must be available at all common areas and entry and exit points
- All people working in the office must follow social distancing norms
- Working hours and lunch breaks must be staggered to reduce the density of people.
Karnataka Guidelines Directives For Malls
- Only asymptomatic customers to be permitted to enter
- Mall entrances and exits to have thermal screening and sanitizer dispensers
- Shopping malls to reopen only in non-containment zones
- Visitors and workers to use separate entrance and exit points.
- Staff involved in making home deliveries to be screened for body temperature before being allowed to make home deliveries.
- Shoppers to be encouraged to use escalators with only one person per alternate step.
- Gaming arcades, cinema halls and play areas inside the mall to remain shut
- Posters about preventive measures to be taken against COVID-19 should be prominently displayed.
- If possible, visitor entry should be staggered.
- Employees at high risk, i.e., pregnant women and elderly people over the age of 60 years should not be involved in front-line work.
- If valet parking is to be offered, valet drivers must wear masks and gloves and disinfect steering, keys, door handles, etc.
- Marking should be made with adequate distance between them to ensure social distancing.
- Air conditioning devices should be set at 24-30 degrees with relative humidity in the 40-70% range.
- Hand wash, drinking water stations and lavatories to be frequently sanitized.
- Frequently touched surfaces such as door knobs, elevator buttons, benches, handrails, etc. must be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
- Food courts not to have more than 50% seating capacity
- Contactless ordering and payments to be encouraged
- Tables and chairs to be sanitized after each customer leaves
Karnataka Guidelines Directives For Hotels And Restaurants
- Contactless processes such as online forms, QR code payment, etc. to be adopted and encouraged
- Luggage to be disinfected before being sent to a guest’s room.
- Each room to be disinfected after the guest checks out.
- Face masks to be worn by employees and guests at all times
- Only asymptomatic guests and employees to be allowed to enter
- Room service and takeaway to be encouraged instead of the dining-in service
- Restaurants advised having disposable menus and paper napkins
- Lavatories to be regularly cleaned and deep cleaned at intervals
- Tables and chairs to be sanitized after each customer leaves
Karnataka Guidelines Directives For Places Of Worship
- Entrances must have provisions for thermal screening and hand sanitization
- Only asymptomatic people to be allowed to enter
- All devotees must wear face masks
- Footwear should ideally be removed inside one’s own vehicle or kept in separate slots outside the premises
- Posters about preventive measures to be taken against COVID-19 should be prominently displayed.
- Air conditioning devices should be set at 24-30 degrees with relative humidity in the 40-70% range.
- Large congregations remain banned
- Devotees to bring their own mats
- Stringent social distancing to be followed in the perpetration and distribution of food through langars and community kitchens.
- No live singing
- Only recorded devotional music to be played
- Devotees cannot touch the idols or religious books
- Offering and receiving Prasad and sprinkling of Holy water prohibited.
