A List Of Useful FAQ About Lockdown 5
Q: Has the lockdown ended?
A: The lockdown will continue only in containment zones till June 30th.
Q: How is the country being categorized?
A: Red, Orange and Green zones have been done away with. Instead, the country has been divided into containment and non-containment zones. These zones have been demarcated by district authorities. A containment zone is one where at least 1 positive case of COVID-19 has been identified. Every confirmed case will be considered an epicenter. The containment zone will be decided based on the number of positive cases in the area, population density and contact tracing history.
Q: What is permitted in containment zones?
A: Only essential services are allowed in containment zones. A strict perimeter will be enforced around these zones to ensure that there is no movement of people in and out of these zones. People may move in and out of the zones only for medical emergencies and to maintain the supply of essential goods and services.
Q: Will private offices reopen?
A: Private offices can reopen in non-containment zones. However, companies are advised to allow maximum people to continue working from home.
Q: Will shops reopen?
Shops selling essential and non-essential goods will reopen in non-containment zones. Shops in malls may reopen from June 8th onwards.
Q: Can I visit a temple?
Religious places of worship will be reopened from June 8th onwards.
Q: Will restaurants reopen?
A: Restaurants can currently offer delivery and take away. They will reopen for dining-in on June 8th.
Q: Can I exercise outdoors?
A: Walking, cycling, exercising , etc. outdoors is permitted in all zones from 5am to 9pm. Social distancing must be maintained. Children below the age of 10 years, elderly people over the age of 65 years, pregnant women and individuals with co-morbidities should stay indoors. Gyms, swimming pools and other such places will remain closed.
Q: Can house-help come for work?
A: Maids, drivers and all other house-help can restart work in non-containment zones. Plumbers, carpenters, AC mechanics etc. can also work in non-containment zones. Final decision rests with the RWA.
Q: Are alcohol shops open?
A: Most states have allowed alcohol shops to open outside containment zones.
Q: Is inter-state travel permitted?
A: Inter-state travel is permitted by road, rail and air.
Q: What can be shopped for online?
A: E-commerce websites can sell essential and non-essential goods.
Q: Are salons open?
A: Salons have been allowed to reopen in non-containment zones. Social distancing must be maintained.
Q: Are cinema theatres open?
A: Cinema theatres, auditoriums, assembly halls, entertainment parks and other such places will remain closed.
Q: Can you travel within the city in your private vehicle?
A: People in non-containment zones can travel by private cars/bikes without any special permission.
Q: Are schools and colleges reopening?

Q: Is the metro running?
A: No, travel by metro is prohibited for now.
Q: Can weddings be held?
A: Weddings can be held but with a maximum of 50 guests.
Q: Is there a limitation on funerals?
A: Funerals can be held with no more than 20 people present.
Q: Are cultural and religious functions allowed?
A: No, cultural, religious, social, political, sports, academic and other such functions involving large congregations are not allowed.
Q: Do I need to wear a mask?
A: The mouth and nose must be covered at all times while in transport, in offices and in public places.
