The Home Affairs Ministry operating under the Government of India has introduced a pass system to control the movement of people in India. This decision intends to put a check on the transmission of COVID 19 Coronavirus.

Essential Service Passes In Karnataka -Types
Two different passes will be issued:
- For individuals
- For vehicles
Who Requires Essential Service Passes In Karnataka?
Passes will be issued to:
- Employees of ATM’s, Banks, Insurance Agencies
- Staff/delivery agents of pharmaceutical companies operating online
- Employees/Delivery staff of online food services (Eg: Zomato, Uber Eats etc)
- E-commerce staff and delivery agents (Eg: Amazon, Myntra etc)
- Security Staff employed privately
- Employees working in a grocery store, ration shop, and other stores providing essential food items like milk, fish and meat
- The staff working for a petrol/LPG retail agency
- Staff working in the health sector (Hospitals/Public Health Dispensaries/Clinics/ Laboratories/Nursing Homes/ Ambulance services)
- Media persons (Both print and electronic media)
- Staff working for IT companies
- Employees of IT services supporting other essential services
- Employees of Telecom industries and internet providers
- Staff employed in the Power generation/transmission/distribution sectors
- Employees of essential commodity manufacturing industries
- Debt and capital market services employees
- Staff working in cold storages and warehouses
- Transportation employees of essential commodities
- Employees of hotels where tourists are stranded due to the COVID 19 outbreak/tourists have been asked to quarantine themselves due to possible exposure
Where Can You Get Essential Services Passes?
- Jurisdictional L&O and DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Office
- The passes are available 24/7
- Staff are working in 3 different shifts to meet these requirements and make the pass available immediately
- The individual has to duly fill and submit an application form that is standardized
- The passes will be issued in the format prescribed
