What Is A Hotspot
A hotspot is an area where either one person must have tested positive since April 11 or at least 50 contacts of a positive patient must reside in this particular administrative area. This list will be updated based on if people from other wards test positive.
Hotspot Districts In Karnataka
At the state level, the districts are divided into 3 categories
- Red Zones: At least one positive case reported in the past 14 days
- Orange Zones: No Covid 19 reported for last 14 days
- Green Zones: All others fall into green zones

Containment Zones In Bangalore
The BBMP has listed many containment zones in Bangalore. The area with 100 meters of a block with a reported COVID-19 case is categorized as a containment zone. And below listed are the restriction
- Local police will notify the people living in the area with the use of loudspeakers.
- Residents are instructed to stay indoors
- No unchecked inward or outward movement allowed
- The administration will provide essentials
- Barricades are also put up around the zones
- Only emergency vehicles including ambulances and police vehicles are permitted in the area

Coronavirus Hotspot In Karnataka – What Does Containment Mean?
- People in the area will be cheeked for COVID-19 related symptoms daily
- When symptoms are identified medical team will verify it.
- Patients could be put on home isolation or moved to a hospital isolation
- Microphone in the entire containment zone and the buffer zones to explain symptoms and preventive measures
- Temporary medical camps
- Possible contacts of the ‘index case’ is identified, put on hospital quarantine and tested
- 108 ambulances in the area
- Houses and public spaces will be sanitized
