A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences (AJIMS) was founded by philanthropist and educationist Mr AJ Shetty. AJIMS is aimed to provide global perspectives of medical education to achieve the national objective of ‘Health for All’. The institution nurtures a vision to establish itself as a premiere imparting medical education that effectively combines high academic exposure, professional outlook and commitment to humanitarian values.
AJIMS strongly believes in shattering all barriers of caste, religion and culture etc and endeavors to provide quality education to all aspiring students.
AJIMS is located in a 30 kms sprawling campus in Mangalore. The college was established in 2002. It is managed by Laxmi Memorial Education Trust and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and is recognized by Medical Council and Dental Council of India.
AJIMS also has a hospital (AJ Hospital and Research Center) attached to its campus which provides quality treatment with advanced facilities.

Admissions
Eligibility
- The candidate should have passed in 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences, Bangalore with Chemistry, Physics and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study.
- The candidate should have scored atleast 50% marks in aggregate of optional subjects.
- The candidate must be 17 years old
Documents To Be Produced At The Time Of Admission
- 10th standard pass certificate – Original + 3 attested photocopies
- 12th standard or equivalent marks card – Original + 3 attested photocopies
- Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended – Original + 3 attested photocopies
- Original of Conduct certificate from the institution last attended
- Eligibility certificate issued by the Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore (separate application is to be made to the RGUHS)
- Migration certificate from the Board of the institution last studied
- Proof of employment abroad of the parent (if the student has studied in India)
- Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
- Blood Group certificate
- 5 stamp size and 5 passport size photograph
- Valid passport and student VISA for the period of study for NRIs and out of the country students
