CM S.M. Krishna's Message Date: September 13, 2001 I am appalled and shocked at the recent tragic events that occurred in the US. I am unable to express the pain and anguish; I am experiencing at the thought of hundreds of innocent victims of this mindless and barbaric act. This is not just an attack on a country but a display of the superior strength by the terrorists against the civilized order. It is not an attack on the United States of America alone, but an attack on the very fabric of democracy itself. It is time not just to condemn these acts of terror but for the world to stand united and act against this attack on the principles of democracy i.e. life, liberty and free market and the entire humanity. My deep sympathies to the victims of this tragedy cutting across the boundaries of race, religion or nationality. From the time of the tragedy, the Government of Karnataka has been working on providing information to the anxious relatives about their kith and kin residing in the USA and will continue to do so.
