- Conflict can't resolve issues with China: Krishna
External Affairs Minister SM Krishna has said that the conflict with China is no solution to resolving the differences over boundary issues.
Speaking in Lok Sabha on Thursday, Dec 10, Krishna expressed the hope that disputes would be sorted out through dialogue, the best way forward.

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna on Sunday wrapped up his four-day visit to Japan during which he put negotiations on a key economic pact and the ambitious freight corridor project on the fast track.Krishna, who arrived here on Thursday, held wideranging discussions with his counterpart Hirofumi Nakasone on bilateral issues, including boosting economic and commercial ties.
Krishna and Nakasone co-chaired the third round of the annual strategic dialogue during which they agreed to cooperate on pressing global issues of climate change, disarmament, non-proliferation, maritime security and the global financial crisis.

In the wake of the new reports of Indians retaliating to the racial attacks against them, Indian foreign minister, SM Krishna has urged the Indian Students in Australia to be patient and exercise restraint."I would like our Indian students to be patient ... restrained. They have gone there to pursue higher studies, they should concentrate on that," SM Krishna said.

India expressed shock over the attack on its students in Melbourne and asked Australia to ensure the safety of the students.SM Krishna, the newly appointed External Affairs Minister reminded Australia about its responsibility to ensure the well-being and security of the Indian students studying there.
While commenting on the assault on four Indian students, one of whom is in critical condition, Krishna said, "I have been appalled at the attack on our students in Melbourne." "We will impress upon the Australian authorities that such attacks should not be permitted," he added.

Veteran Congress leader S M Krishna on Friday termed his induction in the central cabinet
as "unexpected".Krishna told a television news channel that "it was an unexpected call" for him as he was asked to be present for the swearing-in ceremony on Friday evening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Former Karnataka chief minister Krishna, however, denied the suggestion that he was being rewarded for his "loyalty" to the Gandhi family.
