Village of Hampi near Vijaynagar attracts visitors all year around but during the month of November prominent people from the field of art, dance, music and drama land in this village to participate in the Vijaya Utsav also called the Hampi Festival. Hampi is a World Heritage Site

Hampi Festival is held from November 3-5 every year. The Hampi Utsav is a recreation of the grandeur of that era, of the glory that was Hampi. During the Vijayanagar kingdonm days the Dasara festival was celebrated with a lot of pomp and show giving importance to the rich culture of Karnataka. Admist rocks and ruins that dates back to hundreds of years this festival of dance, drama and music is organized for everybody to enjoy. The idea is to depict the life of people who live around Hampi.

These days the State Government organizes the “The Hampi Festival” or “Hampi Utsav” every year which includes dance, drama, music, puppet shows, processions. The idea is to 'recreate' the grandeur of the bygone era. Artists from all over India participate in this awesome festival.

For those who are fond of traditional shopping there cannot be a better place than Hampi to shop. Color, gaiety and excitement follow the long and spectacular processions which wind their way to the sounds of pipes and trumpets.
