TVS has a manufacturing unit in Mysore and Hosur.
They will manufacture two wheelers, three and four wheel (quadra cycles) automotive vehicles with an invesment of Rs 500 crore at Nanjangud in Mysore district. This is the second unit in Mysore, which will manufacture 500,000 vehicles per annum. This was announced on April 22, 2003.
On August 20, 2003 TVS announced that they will come out with three wheeler in 18 months. For this new biz segment they would acquire 500 acres of land near Mysore. The new biz will increase the staff strength from 1,300 to 2,000 in Mysore.

- Hero Honda enters K'taka with Rs 2k cr investment
Two-wheeler giant Hero Honda is entering Karnataka with a huge investment of Rs 2,000 as the state government has allotted 500 acres of land for the company near Hubli airport.
"Hero Honda is coming (to the state). We are going to give them 500 acres near Hubli airport near Dharwad. They are investing Rs 2,000 crore. They need 1,000 skilled workers. It will have annual capacity to manufacture one lakh two-wheelers," Karnataka's Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh R Nirani said on Sunday, Mar 28.

- Mitsubishi-VST joint venture for diesel engines
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited (MHI), Tokyo, Japan and VST Tillers Tractors Limited (VTTL) today forged a joint venture to manufacture small size diesel engines upto 50 HP at VST Tillers plant in Mysore.Announcing the Joint Venture A T Nahender, Director, MHI-VST Diesel Engines, said the first phase of the project estimated to cost Rs 41.5 crore would have a plant capacity of 30,000 units and production would start by May, next year. It was planned to commence knock down production in December 2007 and gradually increase the indigenous content.

Karnataka Industries Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu today informed the Legislative Council that Tata Motors has proposed to establish a new unit for manufacturing Luxury and small buses in Dharwad. Replying to Basavraj Bommai (JD), he said the company also proposes to manufacture Light Commercial Vehicles. Under the proposal, the company intends to invest Rs 2044 Crore.

Energising the sluggish motorcycle market in the country, TVS Motor Company today launched its new offering 160cc Apache RTR (Racing Throttle Response), the first of its kind in the country, and aimed to cross One Million mark sales in bikes this year.Company President K N Radhakrishnan, unveiling the new vehicle, an upgrade of 150 cc Apache launched last year, told newsmen here that TVS Motor aimed to garner 25 per cent of the market share of around 60,000 to 65,000 vehicles in the premium segment this fiscal.
