The much anticipated Karnataka Global Investors’ Meet 2016 is slated to begin from today. The global meet will continue from 3rd to 5th Feb 2016. The event is scheduled to take place at the Bengaluru Palace Ground, Bengaluru. The meet is intended to focus on the opportunities that exist in Karnataka for investors. It is aimed to attract domestic and global stakeholders.
Focus on attracting investment for Karnataka
Karnataka is one of the fastest developing states in the country. It offers various trade and investment opportunities across diverse industry sectors. With just 5% of the country’s population, Karnataka contributes to 6% of GDP. The state government plans to highlight on these factors to woo global investors for successful partnerships and to carry out comprehensive and sustained development projects in the state.
A platform for Local and Global Investors
The Karnataka Global Investors’ Meet is a platform for investors and concerned people to meet and exchange ideas about how to fulfil the state’s vision of prosperity for all. The state government has plans to enhance the scale of development in Karnataka by using technology, innovation, inclusivity and sustainability as the key factors for development. Through this meet the government plans to call upon visionary leaders and global corporations to explore opportunities in Karnataka.
The focus countries for attracting investment would include Japan, Taiwan, Middle East, US, Germany, France, Sweden, and Singapore. It has been revealed by the state government that 30,000 acres of land has been acquired and another 20,000 acres has been identified for acquisition for industrial projects in the State.
Proposed events at the Global Investors’ Meet 2016
The three-day long event will host focused sectoral, theme and partner country seminars. The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah has revealed that consultative meetings will be held with industry associations, industry leaders, global CEOs, embassies and consulates of various countries in India during the meet.
