Mysooru Dasara 2008

Historic Mysore Dasara( Navaratri) is celebrated in the erstwhile princely city of Mysore in Karnataka. The 9 day celebrations symbolizes the victory of vice over the evil. The festival was started by the Wodeyars, rulers of Mysuru State. The images from Dasara festivities reflects the socio-religious-cultural history of Karnataka today.

Dasara Festival inaugurated on 30th September 2008 at Chamundi Hills. The Festivities inaugurated by Paramapoojya Jagadguru Dr. Sri. Sri. Sri. Shivakumara Mahaswamiji, Seer of Siddaganga Math, Tumkur.

Chief Minister Sri. B. S. Yediyurappa graced the occasion. The function was presided by Sri. M. Sathyanarayana, MLA, Chamundeshwari Constituency.
