After the Xth board exam the most important exam a student has to appear for is XII. This could be the turning point of a student's career - engineering or medical or law or fashion design, the options are endless these days.

Most students in Karnataka opt for PUC (Pre-University) curriculum.   The others opt for ICSE and CBSE boards. In 2008 the CET board was forced to delay the announcement of CET results because of the delay of ISC and CBSE results. From 2009 the announcement of CET results will be made irrespective of ICSE and CBSE results. Basically it could be a disadvantage to be in ICSE and CBSE boards in Karnataka.
