    • Deccan Herald provides CET Helpdesk
      Launching a new forum called 'Mission Admission', Deccan Herald attempts to make the testing days ahead a bit easier. This new forum will help candidates keep track of news and information on the CET, the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) of COMEDK and key entrance tests thereafter.

    • COMED-K problems test time limit
      Students appearing for the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) conducted by the private professional colleges consortium COMED-K, found the examination quite easy but complained that the Maths paper was a bit lengthy to be solved within the given time

    • CET's got a few surprises now
      The Common Entrance Test (CET) is less than a week away. On April 19, the fate of thousands of students will be decided as their CET performance determines which colleges they get into and which courses they secure a seat in.

      The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), which conducts the CET, has highlighted a few aspects that are new this year.

    • CET seat sharing meet on Dec 29
      The first meeting between the government and private managements on sharing of seats and fee structure in undergraduate professional colleges for Common Entrance Test (CET) - 2008 will happen on December 29.

    • Conduct CET for two days
      Students Federation of India has urged the state government to conduct the Common EntranceTest (CET) for two days instead of one day in the interest of the students.

      Federation has criticised the State government decision to limit the test to single day. It has accused the government of heeding to the wishes of private institutions and said that the decision is deterring the rural students in pursuing their education.

    • SFI protests one-day CET
      Student Federation of India (SFI) staged a dharna in front of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) against the education department's decision to hold all the Common Entrance Test (CET) papers on a single day.

    • Comed-K on May 8
      Comed-K UGET 2008 for Medical, Dental and Engineering courses will be conducted on May 4, at different centres. This year, Comed-K has introduced English paper for the entrance test in addition to other four papers - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

    • H K Patil asks for 2-day CET
      The opposition leader in the legislative council, H K Patil, on Sunday presented a memorandum to governor Rameshwar Thakur, urging him to hold the CET examination over two days instead of one.

      Patil's letter said: “All the papers -- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology -- have been scheduled to be held on only one day - April 19, 2008. The timetable issued by the Karnataka Education Authority is impractical and without just consideration for the entire student community.''

    • Mock CET on Dec 2
      TIME institute, tutorial for entrance exams will hold an All Karnataka Mock CET for students of II PUC Science on December 2 across the state at TIME centres and the same will be conducted at Mangalore, Udupi and Puttur.

      Addressing a news conference on Friday, TIME Mangalore Director Ganesh Hebbar said that students writing the exam will get the state ranking similar to CET which will be displayed on the website www.time4education.com
      The examinations are conducted free of cost and the main aim of the exam is to prepare the students technically and mentally to face CET examination.

    • CET Cell dons new look as KEA
      The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), the new avatar of the Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is all set to discharge its  duties, in a bigger capacity.

      The KEA, now an authority registered under the Cooperatives Societies Act, has been approached by several clients for conducting entrance tests for recruitment processes.
